Meet Riley V, an IT wizard from Brentwood, CA! He has been tinkering since he can remember and has been able to launch his career in technology at Jones IT. He has the drive and understanding to improve any and every part of your IT setup! Make sure to say hello if he’s ever in your office!

Q: What interests you most about IT?

A: I first became interested in IT after attending a Lego Engineering course in grade school I talked with someone who had built their own gaming PC and I wanted to do it too. So I did. The more I learned the more I realized how expansive IT really is. Technology is infinite, it never stops. You can bring science fiction ideas to reality. IT TURNS YOUR DREAMS INTO REALITY!!

Q: What is your favorite work memory from Jones IT?

A: Our most recent Thanksgiving Holiday Party/ Dinner was awesome. Such a fun time filled with friends, family, and the best food! Also, just getting hired was an amazing memory. I knew my life was gonna change for the better. I was finally able to build a structure and plan out my life more. That was an amazing feeling.

Q: What is one of your favorite things/ passions outside of work?

A: Photography, gaming, and just having a good ass time! That includes going on adventures, traveling, exploring, getting out there. Basically, sending it!

Q: Any advice for aspiring IT consultants?

A: Apply to Jones IT! If you’re thinking about it, just do it. Show a passion for learning, for IT. A passion for just wanting to get after it and learn. Those are the people we want here. Don’t be afraid, just go for it!

Q: Best advice for start-ups/small businesses looking to improve their current IT setup?

A: Research, set up, and enforce the most basic best IT practices you can find. Take the time to document it and set it up so each new employee you get is already enrolled in these practices once they start. If you enforce these best practices from the beginning, they will scale with your culture as you grow.
