Meet Michael! A native Ohioan, former Air Force Staff Sergeant/Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman, and one of Jones IT’s Systems Engineers. Michael brings the positive vibes every single day and we appreciate him so much for it. He’s able to really connect humans to the technology and make it work for them in the most efficient way possible. It’s a treat for everyone who gets to work with him!
Q: What interests you most about IT?
A: The capability that technology has for connecting people is the aspect of IT that interests me the most. We’re in a very interesting era right now. We grew up with technology, we were doing things for fun, and had no idea that we were learning essential career skills. Tech devices are a part of almost everyone’s day to day life now. They can either frustrate you or teach you how to solve problems. I love it.
Q: What is your favorite work memory from Jones IT?
A: Last year’s Jones IT Summer Retreat in Sonoma, CA. It’s where I really realized that I didn’t just enjoy working with everyone, I truly enjoyed being around them and spending time with them. There are so many good work memories though, it sucks to have to pick just one.
Q: What is one of your favorite things/ passions outside of work?
A: Anime, I love everything about it. I’m a gamer too. Finally, I just love doing random research. I don’t always deep dive into every subject, but I love getting a base layer understanding of a ton of different subjects.
Q: Any advice for aspiring IT consultants?
A: Learn to switch your mentality from being just an every day user, to someone who can troubleshoot and solve problems. If you work with technology and understand how to fix it, you’re just one step away from becoming a consultant. Think about how you can solve problems for others, and not just for yourself.

A: Read and subscribe to our blogs! They’re all aimed at helping growing businesses. There are also a lot of emails and resources online that you can subscribe and learn from as well.
